Peterloo: Witness to a Massacre is a new verbatim style graphic novel, telling the story of the violent suppression of a peaceful, democratic protest that took place in Manchester 200 years ago. This is a unique, first-of-its-kind visual project, using only direct testimony of the time (letters, memoirs, journalist’s accounts, spies’ reports, courtroom evidence, etc.) combined with vivid and realistic illustrations.
Authors Polyp, Eva Schlunke and Robert Poole (who are proud to be active members of The Peterloo Memorial Campaign) invite you to join them at the launch of this landmark publication. The event will begin at 6pm at The Portico Library, where there will be a paid bar, speeches and books on sale. An after-party will take place below the Library at The Bank Pub from 8:00pm, where there will be 20% off all food and drinks. (No booking required for after party.)
