A THREE-HOUR INTERDISCIPLINARY WORKSHOP EXPLORING IDENTITY AND HERITAGE THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY AND WRITING, TO MAKE MINIATURE ‘SELF-COLLAGES’.
Part Manchester Festival of Libraries.
Exploring the Polaroid emulsion lift process, where participants will take pictures using a Polaroid camera, and then how to perform what’s called the emulsion lift process. You may take pictures of yourself, or want to photograph something within the building you resonate with, or something you have with you, perhaps clothing.
The emulsion lift process is quite delicate, it ties in nicely to the themes of identity and heritage and the beauty of unpacking those things concurrently. We’ll then be doing some short writing exercises, and at the end of each exercise, writing a short fragment of each piece on the print.
You will be able to take the prints home with you at the end of the workshop.
