Join us to read and discuss Mary Elizabeth Braddon's sensational novel Aurora Floyd. A perfect winter warmer!

Following on from reading Shirley and Middlemarch volume by volume as the books were originally published (and as they are in the Portico library's collection, join us for a very different type of Victorian novel. Aurora Floyd (1863) is a sequel to Braddon's highly popular novel Lady Audley's Secret (1862), which is on display on our exhibition, and tells the tale of murder, broken engagements, possible bigamy and heartbreak.

Volume One Chapters 1 to 13 on 29 November 2023 6.30-7.30pm

Volume Two Chapters 14 to 25 on 10 January 2024 6.30-7.30pm

Volume Three Chapters 26 to 39 on 31 January 2024 6.30-7.30pm

Online with the last session being both in person and online. A list of questions to think about will be sent a day or two beforehand.
