Are you a Teacher? Teaching Assistant? School Librarian? A Literacy or History Lead in a school or college? Then this event is for you. The Portico Library is hosting an informal networking event to share our plans for the future – both for our building and increased potential for learning.
The Portico’s collection contains first and early editions of many books still taught on the curriculum, such as A Christmas Carol or Frankenstein, as well as illustrated books that can be used to inspire creative forms of storytelling, such as Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In addition, we have many books on the history of Manchester and that can be used in histories of the industrial revolution, political reform, local studies and colonial expansion.
We want to hear what could help your school, students and practice. We’ll have wine, juice and nibbles available.
Do also come along if you are just curious and want to pop into our beautiful Reading Room!
Free – please RSVP events@theportico.org.uk
