Join industrial archaeologist Steve Little for a relaxed walk to explore the local history and architecture around the Portico Library. From domestic workshops to gardens to warehouses and factories to famous churches, find out more about the vibrant past that surrounds the library. We'll be finishing near Deansgate at Arkwright House.

Part of Greater Manchester Walking Month and Local History Month.

Tea or coffee at 10.30am in the library and the walk will start at 11am and last for a hour. Please wear suitable shoes for walking uneven walking surfaces on the pavements and roads around the Portico. Make sure that you are dressed for Manchester weather - it's what contributed to the Industrial Revolution after all!
