For most people, building a tolerant society is a priority, but we can do much more than just tolerate each other’s differences—we can celebrate, learn from, and enjoy them. On Wednesday 9th March, from 6:30pm to 8pm, join fellow Portico Library visitors from around the world to hear how the manners, customs, and expectations we grow up with differ from place to place, and which ones we have in common. Conversations will be friendly and informal, with prompts drawn from the artworks and books in the Library’s current exhibition Sit Down & Get Out! The trouble with ‘polite society’.
